Yorktown Heights Fire Department firefighters were dispatched to Sparkle Lake on Jan. 7 at about 1:40 p.m. on a report of a large oil spill.
"Yorktown firefighters quickly mitigated the spill by locating the source and containing the oil entering into the lake via storm drains," firefighters wrote on their website.
