Wintry Mix Headed To Hudson Valley; Advisory Issued

Three consecutive commutes could be affected by the weather.

Get ready for more wintry weather. A storm system is set to move into the Hudson Valley Monday, and the National Weather Service has issued a winter weather advisory for parts of the region.

The advisory is in effect from 6 p.m. Monday to 6 p.m Tuesday for Orange, Putnam, Rockland and northern Westchester counties.

The weather service said mixed precipitation is expected.

Total snow accumulations of up to 2 inches and ice accumulation of up to around 2/10ths of an inch.

People in the area should plan on slippery road conditions. The hazardous conditions could impact the Monday evening and Tuesday morning and evening commutes.

For western Columbia, eastern Ulster and all of Dutchess counties, a hazardous weather outlook was issued for late Monday into Tuesday.

A light to moderate accumulation is possible which could result in difficult travel conditions.

No advisories have been issued for southern Westchester, but the forecast is calling for a chance of snow after 11 a.m. Monday. Rain and snow are likely before midnight, with snow and freezing rain turning to all rain before dawn Tuesday.
