Woman Charged with Theft of Perfume from Sears

A 53-year-old Bronx woman, who was arrested in Greenburgh on unrelated charges, was turned over to the Yorktown Police Department for stealing a bottle of perfume from a department store, Yorktown police said.

When the woman was arrested on Jan. 16 by the Greenburgh Police Department, it was revealed the Yorktown Police Department had an arrest warrant issued for her in connection with the theft that occurred on Aug. 25. 

Police officer Sgroi and Sgt. Graham responded to the Greenburgh Police Department on Jan. 17 and arrested the woman. She is accused of stealing a bottle of perfume from Sears and concealing it in her handbag before exiting the store. The perfume was valued at $52, police said.

She was charged with petty larceny, a misdemeanor. 

The woman was remanded to the Westchester County Jail in lieu of $500. She was scheduled to appear in Yorktown Town Court on Jan. 21.
