Yorktown Heights FD Rescues 1 Person After Car Goes Into Creek

Nearly two dozen Yorktown Heights volunteer firefighters responded to the scene of the accident.

YORKTOWN, NY — One person was taken to the hospital Tuesday after the car in which they were traveling went off the road and into a creek.

Around 6 p.m., the Yorktown Heights Volunteer Fire Department, along with the Yorktown Volunteer Ambulance Corps, Ossining Volunteer Ambulance Corps paramedics and the Yorktown Police Department, responded to a report of a car in the water on Baptist Church Road.

Officials said they found a car that had rolled over and fallen into the creek after leaving the roadway.

Fire and emergency medical personnel were able to get down to the person in the car and get them out using a rescue basket.

Officials said the person was taken to the hospital for treatment.
