Yorktown Man Accused Of Driving While Drug Impaired

Police said the man was involved in a two-car accident.

YORKTOWN, NY — A two-car crash led to accusations of possessing drugs and driving while being impaired by drugs.

Yorktown police said William Gerbe III, 31, of Yorktown, was charged with driving while ability impaired by drugs and two counts of seventh-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance, misdemeanors, and second-degree unlawful possession of marijuana, a violation.

Police said, shortly before 7 p.m. Monday, officers responded to a two-car accident on Underhill Avenue.

Gerbe was identified as one of the drivers, and police said he was operating his vehicle while he was impaired by drugs.

He also was found to have suboxone, oxycodone and marijuana.

Gerbe was arrested and taken to the Yorktown Police Department for processing.

He was released on his own recognizance to a responsible adult and is due to appear in Yorktown Justice Court Jan. 5.
