Yorktown Man Violated Order Of Protection: Police

Authorities said the man also damaged the lock of a sliding glass door.

YORKTOWN, NY — A Yorktown Heights man was accused of violating an order of protection and damaging someone's home.

The Yorktown Police Department said Migel Celaj, 38, of Yorktown Heights, was charged with second-degree criminal contempt and fourth-degree criminal mischief, misdemeanors.

Police said, around 10:45 a.m. Monday a person walked into headquarters with a complaint of a violation of an order of protection in Yorktown.

The investigation found that around 5 p.m. May 6 Celaj violated a duly served Town of Yorktown Justice Court order of protection.

He was at the home of the person for whom the order of protection was in force, and he damaged a sliding glass door lock, police said.

Celaj went to police headquarters Tuesday and was placed under arrest.

He was arraigned in the Yorktown Justice Court and released on his own recognizance.

Celaj is due back in court June 10.
