Sept. 6, the day school opens in the Yorktown Central School District, is coming up fast.

Here are other important dates in the 2016-17 calendar.

Rosh Hashanah (school closed): Oct. 3, 4

Columbus Day and Yom Kippur (school closed): Oct. 10 – 12

Superintendent’s conference: Nov. 8

Veterans Day (school closed): Nov. 11

Thanksgiving: Half day on Nov. 23, schools closed on Nov24 and 25

Holiday recess (school closed): Starts Dec. 23, and school resumes Jan. 3

Martin Luther King Jr. Holiday (school closed): Jan. 16

Winter Recess (school closed): Feb. 20 - 24

Spring recess (school closed): April 10 – 14

Memorial Day (school closed): May 29
