Yorktown Woman Accused Of Violating Part Of Protection Order

Police said the woman communicated with the person for whom a temporary order of protection was issued.

YORKTOWN, NY — A Yorktown woman was accused of violating an order of protection.

The Yorktown Police Department said Catherine Camerota, 66, of Yorktown, was charged with second-degree criminal contempt, a misdemeanor.

Police said, shortly after 1 p.m. Friday, officers sent to a Yorktown home to investigate the report of an order of protection violation.

The officer who responded found that Camerota violated a provision of the temporary order of protection that prohibited communication.

She was arrested and taken to Yorktown Police Headquarters for processing.

At the arraignment, a judge issued a new temporary order of protection, and Camerota was released on her own recognizance.

She is due to return to the Yorktown Justice Court May 13.
