Yorktown's Robert Jay Miller Dies At 70

He worked for Metro-North Railroad for 40 years before retiring in 2007.

YORKTOWN, NY — Robert Jay Miller (Bobby), 70, of Yorktown passed away April 10, 2018. Robert was born August 16, 1947, to the late Flavius and Margaret Miller in the Bronx, NY. He served honorably for the United States Army during the Vietnam War. Bobby married the love of his life, Susan, on November 4, 1972. They moved to Yorktown in 1980. He worked for Metro-North Railroad for 40 years before retiring in 2007.

Bobby was a loving husband, father and grandfather. His family was the center of his life. Bob was a member and past Commander of the American Legion Post #1009 in Yorktown. He was a talented artist and avid coin collector. He enjoyed being outdoors golfing and fishing. Bob was a devoted New York Yankees fan.

In addition to his beloved wife, Bobby is survived by his children; Stacey Signorile and her husband Lorenzo of Somers, Robert Miller and his wife Tracy of Boynton Beach, FL, and Laurie Sherman and her husband Chris of Tafton, PA. Bobby will be forever remembered by his eight grandchildren, Cosmo, Hannah, Ava, Alexandra, Ethan, Susan, Samuel and Cameron. He will be missed by his sister Betty Franze and her husband Johnny of Milford, CT and two sisters-in-law; Marianne Materasso of Yorktown and Carol Esposito of Baldwin Place, along with several nieces and nephews. He was loved and cherished by all.

Calling hours will be held on Tuesday, April 24 from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. at Clark Funeral Home in Yorktown. The Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrate at Saint Elizabeth Ann Seton in Shrub Oak on Wednesday, April 25 at 11:15 a.m. Interment will follow at Rose Hills Memorial Park in Putnam Valley. As an expression of sympathy, memorial contributions may be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, an organization that was dear to Bobby's heart: stjude.org.
