Here’s what organizers say about the event:
“Ever wonder what’s happening in the woods during the winter time while a lot of creatures are hibernating? Join Allen Lloyd, a local naturalist, and WOW, on a short hike in search of the Spotted Salamander and learn about this fascinating and gorgeous amphibian and why winter time is when they are particularly active. You’ll learn about the salamander’s habitat, reproductive cycle, diet, and why the Spotted Salamander spends the majority of its time during the year underground and is only seen for a short period of time in the winter and early spring.

"This outing is for children with their families. The minimum age is 5 years old. Location and other details will be sent to those who preregister.

"Preregistration is required. To begin the registration process, please send an email to dlc.wow@gmail.com with the names of all the participants (parents and children), and a cellphone number.”
