Davidson’s Healthy Home Market Closing Its Doors This Week

Davidson's Health Home Market is set to close its doors this week as its owner continues to seek a buyer for two Charlotte locations.

DAVIDSON, NC -- Healthy Home Market is set to shut it’s doors in Davidson this week as the Charlotte-based organic food grocer seeks a buyer for the local chain, according to reports.

The store, located at 261 Griffith Street, began liquidating its inventory last week in preparation of this week’s closure that will leave 27 workers unemployed, The Charlotte Observer reported Monday. The chain will now focus on its stores in Plaza Midwood and Galleria, store owner John Bauer told the newspaper.

The store’s shuttering comes on the heels of the three-store chain going up for sale in August as smaller grocery store chains continue to feel increasing financial pressure from discount grocers, such as Aldi and Lidl, to larger club chains, like Sam’s Club, the Observer reported.
