Earth Fare In Davidson: Grocery Store Announces June 9 Opening

DAVIDSON, NC — Davidson and Lake Norman residents won't have long to wait for a new grocery option. Earth Fare is set to open its new grocery store location offering organic and locally sourced food options in Davidson on Wednesday, June 9.

The store, which is located at 261 Griffith Street, will hold a ribbon-cutting ceremony at 7:50 a.m., and doors will open to shoppers at 8 a.m. "The first 100 guests in line on grand opening day will receive an Earth Fare gift bag filled with a variety of all-natural and organic products," the company said in a statement.

"Our mission is to improve lives by making healthy eating accessible to everyone," Earth Fare spokesperson Laurie Aker told Patch recently.

The new business opening is an exciting development for the town, Davidson Mayor Rusty Knox said when plans were announced last month.

"The void that will be filled by having them here will check a lot of boxes for those seeking more specialized products, neighbors seeking a local, walkable grocer and students at Davidson College," Knox told Patch. "We welcome Earth Fare to Davidson and hope they are as happy to be here as we are having them here."

The new 18,000-square-foot store will be located in the remodeled space that was once the Healthy Home Market, which closed its doors in 2017. The store will feature all grocery departments, and will also have a cafe with indoor and outdoor seating.

Earth Fare Davidson will also partner with Instacart, and offer curbside pickup, Aker said.
All grocery items in the store will be free of added hormones, antibiotics, artificial fats and trans-fats, high fructose corn syrup, artificial sweeteners, artificial preservatives, bleached of bromated flour and artificial colors and flavors.
