Join us for a Davidson LifeLine Community Conversation: Thursday, June 24, 7pm, Davidson Town Hall
A small town like Davidson experiences loss and grief in an impactful way—together as a community. So, we find ourselves today still mourning the death of one of our community members during a tragic accident downtown. The Town of Davidson and Davidson LifeLine, a non-profit focusing on mental health advocacy and education, are joining to offer a Community Conversation Thursday, June 24 at 7:00 p.m. at Davidson Town Hall for anyone affected by this terrible event. Psychiatrist Kevin Marra, M.D., Davidson resident and Director of Medical Services at HopeWay, and Tom Gettelman, Ph.D., Chief Clinical Officer and Director of Admissions at HopeWay will offer a short presentation about trauma, a risk factor for mental health issues and substance use disorders. Trauma can bring difficult emotions and one doesn’t have to have personal contact with a victim or situation to struggle through the aftermath. Please join us for this opportunity to hear this presentation and participate in small group conversations, supported by mental health providers and peer support volunteers.
