Some offices will be closed for Memorial Day in Davidson this year. Here's a list.

DAVIDSON, NC — This year, Memorial Day will be celebrated Monday, May 31. While most banks and government offices will be closed in observance of the holiday, many stores and restaurants will be open for business as usual.

Here is a look at what will be closed on Memorial Day in Davidson:

  • Public library: Closed
  • Town of Davidson offices: Closed
  • Davidson Parks and Recreation offices: Closed
  • Trash Collection: WastePro will operate on a regular pick-up schedule.
  • State offices and courts: Closed
  • Post Office: Closed
  • Banks: Closed
  • Mecklenburg County offices: Closed
  • Department of Social Services: Closed. The Department of Social Services hotlines operate 24 hours a day, seven days a week to receive reports of suspected abuse or neglect. To report abuse of seniors or the disabled, call 704-336-CARE (2273). To report abuse, neglect or human trafficking of children, call 980-31-HELPS (43577).
  • Mecklenburg County Tax Office: Closed
  • Mecklenburg County Elections Office: Closed
  • Mecklenburg County Register of Deeds Office: Closed
  • Mecklenburg County Land Use and Environmental Services Agency offices: Closed
  • Mecklenburg County Health Department: Closed
  • Solid Waste Centers: Closed. This includes the Foxhole Landfill, North Meck Center, Hickory Grove Center, Compost Central and our Tire and Metals Center.
  • Mecklenburg County Aquatic Center will be open Monday, May 31, 2021: 9 a.m.- 5 p.m.
  • Double Oaks Family Aquatic Center — Saturday, May 29: 11 a.m. – 7 p.m. (Opening day);Sunday, May 30: 11 a.m. – 7 p.m.; Monday, May 31: 11a.m. – 7 p.m. (Holiday)
  • Parks, Nature Preserves and Greenways will remain open.
