NCAT Lockdown Lifted After Armed Person Seen Near Stadium

GREENSBORO, N.C. — The lockdown at North Carolina Agricultural and Technical State University has been lifted and a suspect has been detained by police, the university said.

A shelter-in-place order was in effect after an armed person was seen in the area of Aggie Stadium, according to an alert from the school.

The armed man seen near the stadium was accused of threatening to shoot a female student.

He was last seen running from Pride Hall towards the stadium, according to the univerisity.

The lockdown comes the same week that a shooting at the University of North Carolina Charlotte left two people dead and injured four others. A former student was arrested in connection with the shooting.
