New Bakery Opens On Main Street In Davidson

DAVIDSON, NC — A new bakery has landed on Main Street in Davidson, and it promises plenty of sweet treats. Gateau on Main celebrated its grand opening Tuesday afternoon.

The bakery, located at 107 N. Main Street, focuses on pastries and makes its croissants, tarts and macarons fresh on site, it said.

“We know January isn’t the ideal month to open a bakery and dessert bar with everyone starting their ‘new year, new you’ efforts, so we want to make sure your calories are worth every bite here at Gâteau on Main,” its website said. “We have a wide selection of pastries-including those yummy croissants, macarons, and tarts. And we can’t forget that we actually do have gateau! You can also expect fresh bread offerings.”

The Town of Davidson helped celebrate the opening with a Jan. 8 ribbon cutting. “Gateau on Main provides heartfelt and hand-crafted baked goods with a focus on being socially responsible and engaged with the community,” the town said.

Gateau on Main opens at 7 a.m. Tuesday through Friday, and at 9 a.m. on Saturday and Sunday. It closes at 10 p.m. Tuesday through Thursday, at 11 p.m. Fridays and Saturdays and at 9 p.m. on Sunday. The bakery is closed on Mondays.
