Police Seek Witnesses After Woman Struck, Killed In Davidson
An investigation is underway after a 64-year-old woman was fatally struck by a vehicle along Main Street in Davidson Thursday afternoon.
DAVIDSON, NC — The Davidson Police Department made an appeal to the community for information Thursday evening after a pedestrian was fatally hit by a vehicle along Main Street in Davidson.
The collision occurred midday at the corner of North Main Street and Chairman Blake Lane, about one block south of the Davidson College campus.
"A 64-year-old woman died as a result of injuries she suffered when struck by a vehicle at approximately 1:02 p.m. today, Thursday, June 17," the Town of Davidson said in a statement.

For several hours, authorities shut down Main Street to traffic from Jackson Street to Concord Road for accident reconstruction. DPD and the North Carolina State Highway Patrol are conducting an investigation, the town said.
