Coronavirus: Huntersville Closes Town Offices To Walk-In Traffic

HUNTERSVILLE, NC — Town officers will close to walk-in traffic Wednesday evening, the Town of Huntersville announced Wednesday. The closures come as the number of presumptive positive cases of the new coronavirus, also known as COVID-19, increase in the Charlotte metro region and around the state.

As of Wednesday morning, there were at least 63 reported cases of the COVID-19 virus in North Carolina, according to the North Carolina Department of Health and Human Services. Those numbers, however, continue to increase, locally and statewide.

Mecklenburg County Public Health (MCPH) officials said Wednesday morning there were now 14 presumptive positive COVID-19 cases in the county, twice the number of cases reported Monday.

“To stem the spread of COVID-19 (coronavirus), all town offices will be closed to walk-in traffic starting at 5 p.m. March 18 until further notice,” the town said. “We will continue to be available to you via phone and email: 704-875-6541, townhall@huntersville.org.”
