Huntersville Aldi Set To Open Aug. 16: Details
The new grocery store will open at 8:25 a.m. Thursday, Aug. 16, and will be giving away 100 gift cards to the first 100 customers.

HUNTERSVILLE, NC — German grocery Aldi continues its expansion in the region and will open the doors of its new Huntersville location Thursday, Aug. 16 at 8:25 a.m., the company said. The store location will also be giving away gift cards to the first 100 customers in line as part of its “Golden Ticket” promotion, the company said Monday.
Following a ribbon cutting and official grand opening ceremony, the store will also be giving away product samples and conducting a “Produce For A Year” sweepstakes to celebrate it’s first day in business.
The new 20,000-square-foot store on Statesville Road is the new anchor store for the Bayshore Shopping Center, which has undergone reconfiguration in preparation of the future Gilead Road widening project, which is expected in the coming year, the Herald Citizen reported.

The German grocer's expansion in the Lake Norman region comes as it continues its $13 million investment in remodeling 31 Aldi stores in the Charlotte-metro region. Nationwide, the company is spending $1.9 billion for expansion and remodeling 1,300 stores by 2020. At present, 29 of the 31 Charlotte region remodelling projects have been completed, according to a company spokesperson.

"Remodeled Aldi stores have a convenient layout that focuses on what people love most: fresh food, produce, dairy and baked goods," the company said. "The updated design also features open ceilings, natural lighting and environmentally-friendly building materials."
Aldi's Huntersville store is located at 14126 S. Statesville Road and will be open daily from 9 a.m. to 8 p.m.
