Huntersville Child Safety Seat Checks: 2020 Events Announced

HUNTERSVILLE, NC — Every parent has been there at some point — bent over in the back seat, pushing fingers in seat creases searching for latch points while bouncing up and down and pulling at various straps to lash down a car seat.

Given the precious cargo, it's important to make sure car seats are properly installed. Huntersville Police have a series of community events offering free inspections and installation of car seats.

Throughout all of 2020, HPD will offer a Child Safety Seat Check twice a month at Huntersville Fire Station 4, located at 8826 McIlwaine Road. The events are scheduled on the second Wednesday of each month, from 9 a.m. until noon, and the fourth Wednesday of each month, from 3:30 p.m. until 6:30 p.m.

Here is a list of HPD's upcoming Child Safety Seat installation and inspection events in 2020:

Jan. 8 — 9 a.m. until noon
Jan. 22 — 3:30 p.m. until 6:30 p.m.

Feb. 12 — 9 a.m. until noon
Feb. 26 — 3:30 p.m. until 6:30 p.m.

March 11 — 9 a.m. until noon
March 25 — 3:30 p.m. until 6:30 p.m.

April 8 — 9 a.m. until noon
April 22 — 3:30 p.m. until 6:30 p.m.

May 13 — 9 a.m. until noon
May 27 — 3:30 p.m. until 6:30 p.m.

June 10 — 9 a.m. until noon
June 24 — 3:30 p.m. until 6:30 p.m.

July 8 — 9 a.m. until noon
July 22 — 3:30 p.m. until 6:30 p.m.

Aug. 12 — 9 a.m. until noon
Aug. 26 — 3:30 p.m. until 6:30 p.m.
Sept. 9 — 9 a.m. until noon
Sept. 23 — 3:30 p.m. until 6:30 p.m.

Oct. 14 — 9 a.m. until noon
Oct. 28 — 3:30 p.m. until 6:30 p.m.

Nov. 11 — 9 a.m. until noon
Nov. 25 — 3:30 p.m. until 6:30 p.m.
