Huntersville Election 2019: Voters Choose Mayor, Commissioners

HUNTERSVILLE, NC — Voters head to the polls Tuesday, Nov. 5 to decide races for Huntersville mayor, town commissioners and the board of education. Polls are open from 6:30 a.m. to 7:30 p.m. on Election Day.

In Mecklenburg County, voters will also cast votes for open mayor and councilman or commissioner seats in Davidson, Cornelius, Charlotte, Matthews, Pineville and Mint Hill, according to the Mecklenburg County Board of Elections.

All Mecklenburg County voters will also have a chance to have their say for a proposed one-quarter percent local sales and use tax, which would help fund the Arts and Science Council, parks and education.

Here are other details voters should know, according to Mecklenburg election officials:

• Photo ID is not required for the 2019 Municipal Elections
• Voter registration and same-day voting are allowed during one-stop/early voting. The voter must present proof of current residence, which can include a N.C. driver's license, a N.C. Identification card, or a utility bill, bank statement or paycheck stub.
