Huntersville Police Offer Child Car Seat Check

HUNTERSVILLE, NC — Every parent has been there at some point — bent over uncomfortably in the back seat, pushing fingers in seat creases searching for latch points while bouncing up and down and pulling at various straps to lash down a car seat.

Given the precious cargo, it’s important to make sure car seats are properly installed. Huntersville Police have a series of community events offering free inspections and installation of car seats.

HPD will offer a Child Seat Check May 23 at Huntersville Fire Station 1, located at 110 S. Old Statesville Road, from 3:30 p.m. until 6:30 p.m.

Here is a list of upcoming Child Seat Checks in 2018:

• June 13 — 9 a.m. - Noon
• June 27 — 3:30 p.m. — 6:30 p.m.
• July 11 — 9 a.m. - Noon
• July 25 — 3:30 p.m. — 6:30 p.m.
• Aug. 8 — 9 a.m. - Noon
• Aug. 22 — 3:30 p.m. — 6:30 p.m.
• Sept. 12 — 9 a.m. - Noon
• Sept. 26 — 3:30 p.m. — 6:30 p.m.
• Oct. 10 — 9 a.m. - Noon
• Oct. 24 — 3:30 p.m. — 6:30 p.m.
• Nov. 14 — 9 a.m. - Noon
• Nov. 28 — 3:30 p.m. — 6:30 p.m.
• Dec. 12 — 9 a.m. - Noon
