‘Please Stop Cursing At Us’: Huntersville Police

HPD officers made the plea for civility after impatient drivers cursed at them while they responded to a crash in the rain.

HUNTERSVILLE, NC — Huntersville Police made a request of the community Friday morning: Please stop cursing at us. The plea for civility was made after officers responded to a traffic accident along Highway 73 and Bay Shore Drive in Huntersville Friday morning.

The crash, coupled with the rainy weather, had choked the road down to one lane.

“Please slow down and yield to first responders!” HPD tweeted, adding “#TowTruckIsComing, #Were Trying, #PleaseStopCursingAtUs.”

“I am not sure if it was directed at them or just someone yelling in frustration because of the traffic buildup,” she said. “The cursing does not happen too often, but people do tend to get frustrated during these types of incidents, especially when traffic starts to build up.”
