I-77 North Lanes Cleared In Huntersville After Predawn Accident
Police urged drivers to find an alternate route after an early morning accident shut down northbound traffic along I-77 in Huntersville.

HUNTERSVILLE, NC — Police and first responders urged morning commuters to find an alternate route Friday after an early morning accident shut down northbound traffic along Interstate 77 in Huntersville.
I-77 was shut down between exits 25 and 28 Friday morning after an accident around 5 a.m. damaged an overhead interstate sign that had to be removed, according to Huntersville Fire Department. “One of the I-77 Express signs has been damaged & knocked off its base,” the fire department said in a social media update.
By 11 a.m., all lanes were cleared.
