Kids Can Learn How To Fish, Cast A Line At These Upcoming Events
The family fishing events at Charlotte metro Bass Pro Shops and Cabelas will offer free fishing guides, first fish certificates and more.
HUNTERSVILLE, NC — Fishing is about to become a lot more accessible for area families. Bass Pro Shops and Cabela's are hosting several "Gone Fishing" family fishing events at stores in the Charlotte metro region this month where kids can learn to cast a line or experience the joy of catching their first fish.
"Bass Pro Shops founder Johnny Morris is challenging families to put down their digital devices and get outside this summer to discover the joys of fishing," the company said in a statement.
During the weekends of June 12-13 and June 19-20, children can fish at store catch-and-release ponds and earn certificates for catching their first fish or for participating in a casting challenge.
