More Snow Headed To Huntersville? Week Ahead Forecast

HUNTERSVILLE, NC — More winter weather is on the way this week in the Charlotte-metro region, thanks to a strong cold front moving into the area Tuesday that could bring snow to Huntersville.

Monday will be sunny with a high near 52 degrees, but conditions will change drastically Tuesday, according to the National Weather Service. Tuesday will be rainy with wind gusts up to 20 miles per hour, leading into an evening where there’s a 40 percent chance of snow and lows dipping into the low 20s.

The cold front’s chilly temperatures will stick around for the rest of the week, according to NWS.

“Very cold air will move in behind the front,” NWS said in a hazardous weather bulletin. “Average temperatures may be nearly 15 degrees below normal Wednesday and Thursday which could cause significant impacts.”

Sunny, with a high near 52. North northeast wind 5 to 7 mph becoming south in the afternoon.
Tonight
Increasing clouds, with a low around 39. South wind 5 to 7 mph.
Tuesday (Jan. 29)
Rain, mainly between noon and 2pm. High near 49. South wind 7 to 13 mph becoming northwest in the afternoon. Winds could gust as high as 20 mph. Chance of precipitation is 80%. New precipitation amounts between a tenth and quarter of an inch possible.
Tuesday Night
A 40 percent chance of snow, mainly before 11pm. Partly cloudy, with a low around 22. Northwest wind 5 to 9 mph becoming light after midnight. Little or no snow accumulation expected.
Wednesday (Jan. 30)
Sunny, with a high near 39. Light southwest wind becoming west 6 to 11 mph in the morning. Winds could gust as high as 18 mph.
