NC Snow Forecast: What Huntersville Can Expect

HUNTERSVILLE, NC — Much of North Carolina is expected to experience wintry weather by Thursday with conditions that could include snow, freezing temperatures and strong wind gusts, according to the National Weather Service.

Winter weather advisories were issued Wednesday in western North Carolina, which could see as much as 6 inches of snow, along with northern portions of central and eastern counties in the state, where up to 3 inches is expected.

In Huntersville, however, residents have about a 20-30 percent chance of seeing a trace of snow between 1 a.m. and 4 a.m. Thursday, NWS said. As of Wednesday afternoon, there was no winter weather advisory issued by NWS for the county.

The wintry weather isn't expected to last long. By midday Thursday, conditions are expected to clear with a high near 50, NWS said.

A chance of rain and snow showers, mainly before 7am. Mostly cloudy through mid morning, then gradual clearing, with a high near 46. North northwest wind 11 to 14 mph, with gusts as high as 24 mph. Chance of precipitation is 30%. Little or no snow accumulation expected.
