New Aldi In Huntersville Set To Open Next Month

The new grocery store lands in Huntersville as the German grocer continues it's remodeling of 31 stores throughout the metro region.

HUNTERSVILLE, NC — The long wait for discount groceries is almost over in Huntersville. The new Aldi grocery store on Statesville Road at Gilead Road will open in August, according to the German company.

The new 20,000-square-foot store is the new anchor store for the Bayshore Shopping Center, which has undergone reconfiguration in preparation of the future Gilead Road widening project, which is expected in the coming year, the Herald Citizen reported.

The German grocer’s expansion in the Lake Norman region comes as it continues its $13 million investment in remodeling 31 Aldi stores in the Charlotte-metro region. Nationwide, the company is spending $1.9 billion for expansion and remodeling 1,300 stores by 2020. At present, 29 of the 31 Charlotte region remodelling projects have been completed, according to a company spokesperson.
