Pinned Driver Freed From Single-Car Crash In Huntersville

Responders from Huntersville Fire pulled the driver from the crash on Hambright Road early Wednesday morning.

HUNTERSVILLE, NC — An overnight single-car crash on Hambright Road in Huntersville left a driver pinned in their vehicle with life-threatening injuries, according to reports.

Crews from two Huntersville Fire stations responded to the crash scene on Hambright Road west of Statesville Road around 2 a.m., where they found the heavily damaged vehicle that had hit a tree.

The pinned driver was extricated from the car in about 15 minutes, according to fire officials.

"Rescue 1, Engine 1 and Engine 3 worked quickly to free the pinned driver and transferred care to MEDIC," Huntersville Fire said.

The driver was transported to an area hospital for treatment of life-threatening injuries, WJZY reported.
