School Supply Drive Underway In Huntersville: What's Needed

The Town of Huntersville has launched a school supply drive and unveiled its schedule for the "Week of Fun" events in early August.

HUNTERSVILLE, NC — Summer break is in full swing around Lake Norman, however, it won't be long before attentions will shift to a new school year. Two events in Huntersville aim to make that look ahead to a new school year a little easier for those in need, as well as provide a week of fun activities for area families before the first school bell rings.

School Supply Drive
Throughout the month of July, the Town of Huntersville is partnering with the Huntersville Police Department and Huntersville Presbyterian Church to collect school supplies, which will be distributed locally at a National Night Out event on Aug. 3 and Fun Friday, set for Aug. 6.

"We would love to send our children back to school with all the supplies they need for a great year!" the Town of Huntersville's Parks and Recreation Department said in a statement.
