Sleet Possible As Soggy Weather Moves Into Metro Region

HUNTERSVILLE, NC — Rain could occasionally turn to sleet Tuesday throughout the greater Charlotte metro area, according to the National Weather Service.

“The rain will occasionally mix with, and may briefly change over to sleet at times,” NWS said in a special weather statement Tuesday morning. “No sleet accumulation is expected.”

Tuesday will have a wintry nip, with highs expected to not make it out of the 40s, forecasters said. Conditions will warm up by Thursday, with highs in the 50s. The wave of rain is expected to linger through the weekend and bring periods of heavy downpours that could lead to isolated flooding, NWS said.
