Volunteers wanted for the Huntersville 2022 Downtown Plan Steering Committee
The Huntersville Board of Commissioners has authorized the development of a Downtown Plan for Huntersville. This effort will follow behind the 2006 Downtown Plan and the 2040 Community Plan. A Downtown Plan Steering Committee will be appointed in summer 2021 to serve for approximately 9-12 months to work with Town staff and consultants. The Steering Committee will consist of 11-15 Huntersville stakeholders, representing Downtown interests, neighborhoods near the Downtown, and the community at large. The Downtown Plan will be guided by a Town Board-approved scope of services and budget that will govern the project. Town Planning staff will administer the consultant contract and provide support to the Steering Committee.
Steering Committee members will be required to attend 6-8 meetings during the course of the project (Fall 2021 – Summer 2022), review the Downtown Plan's progress and content, and be asked to help encourage community participation during the entire project.
