The City of Fargo currently has one opening on its Civil Service Commission. Residents are encouraged to apply for an appointment to the commission by visiting www.FargoND.gov/GettingInvolved. Applications will be accepted until the appointed position is filled.

Name of Board: Civil Service Commission
Opening(s): One (1) Commissioner
Meeting Logistics:
- Second Tuesday of each month (as necessary)
Average Time Commitment: One hour per month or less
Responsibilities:

- Ensures all employees of The City of Fargo receive fair and equal treatment.
- Hears appeals on disciplinary cases, investigates complaints related to employment administration, and presents proposed employment rules and regulations to the Fargo City Commission for approval.
Civil Service Commissioners are paid $11.25 per hour when participating in a meeting. Commissioners must be residents of Fargo.
In addition to this opening, residents are encouraged to research and apply for appointment to any of the boards, commissions and committees for consideration of future vacancies.
