Residents Encouraged To Apply To Serve On Fargo’s Arts & Culture Commission

Applications will begin to be reviewed on July 2 and applying before that date is encouraged and appreciated.

The City of Fargo currently has three openings on its Arts & Culture Commission. Residents are encouraged to apply for appointment by visiting www.FargoND.gov/GettingInvolved.

Name of Board: Arts & Culture Commission

Opening(s): Three (3) Commissioners

Meeting Logistics: Third Wednesday of each month at 5 p.m.

Average Time Commitment: Four to eight (4-8) hours per month

Responsibilities:
1. Manage and facilitate new public art commissions.
2. Manage available funds and engage in active pursuit of public art grants and other relevant funding opportunities.
3. Identify opportunities for public art within current and future capital improvement projects.

In addition to these openings, residents are encouraged to research and apply for appointment to any of the boards, commissions and committees for consideration in the event of future vacancies.

Mayor Tim Mahoney stated, “We are actively seeking applicants with backgrounds and experiences to effectively represent the people of Fargo. Please consider serving your city.”
