Car accidents are common in every state, but what are the most common causes right here in Dayton? According to the most up to date crash statistics in Ohio, here are the most common causes for car accidents in Dayton:

  1. DUI's - In 2016, there were at least 12,000 crashes in the state of Ohio that involved alcohol.
  2. Speeding
  3. Failure to Yield
  4. Tailgating
  5. Failure to Safely Change Lanes

Ohio was also included in the top ten states with the most traffic deaths in 2016. In just one year, there were 1,132 car accident deaths in the state. It's important for the community of Dayton to look into these common causes, and remember while driving, to look out for these split second mistakes that could cause major damage.
