Wright-Patt AFB Incident Not 'Real World' Active Shooter

A reported active shooter incident at the Wright-Patterson Air Force Base hospital turned out to be a false alarm, officials said.

A reported active shooter at the Wright-Patterson Air Force Base hospital in Ohio was not a "real-world" active shooter situation, officials said.

Base emergency responders, including security forces and the fire department, responded to the medical center for a reported active shooter incident. In a press release, officials said the reported incident occurred during a normal, scheduled installation exercise that included an active shooter scenario at a separate base location.

Officials say someone called 911 believing there was a real-world incident at the hospital.
