Family Establishes A Scholarship In Memory Of Ancestors
This is a news release from Washington State Community College about their foundation's Sowing Seeds Foundation Scholarship.

MARIETTA, OH — Curtis I. Caldwell and Stefanie D. Nelson, with the support of their family and friends, recently established The Sowing Seeds Foundation Scholarship with the Washington State Community College Foundation. The scholarship was created to honor the legacy of their ancestors and leave a lasting memory of their impact on the community.

“Many lives were touched by our families,” said Nelson. “This community will always be grateful for the leadership shown by Mabel Caldwell, Shirley, Carl, Doyle, and Mildred Duckworth. Their support and development of the youth of our surrounding Marietta community through various volunteer organizations have planted endless successful seeds.”

The Sowing Seeds Foundation Scholarship is an endowed scholarship that will annually benefit a student in good standing with financial need. “Hard work ethic, education, love for our land, and transfer of knowledge to future generations will continue for many more with the addition of this scholarship,” Nelson added.
The Washington State Community College Foundation is a 501(c)(3) not-for-profit charitable corporation administered by a Board of Directors composed of community leaders and institutional representatives. Gifts made to the Foundation are tax-deductible to the extent allowed by law and are used exclusively to support the College’s mission, its programs, and its students.
