On 051121 at 07:31, P64 was dispatched to 121 Pike St in reference to a dumpster fire. Upon arrival, officers made contact with MFD personnel who had the fire contained. Through an investigation, it was found that a male wearing a black hoodie and jeans was witnessed starting the fire in the dumpster. The male was identified as Brandon Gibbs. Gibbs was arrested and resisted officers during his arrest. Gibbs was transported to the Washington County Jail and charged with arson and resisting arrest.

On 051121 at 7:47 P49 responded to a bomb threat that was called into the Marietta Middle School. The school was evacuated and the school was cleared with the help of a bomb dog. As a result of this situation, the students were sent home.

On 051121 at 1100 hrs units were dispatched to St. Mary's Catholic School in reference to a bomb threat. Students were evacuated and the building was cleared with the help of a bomb dog.

On 051121 at 1:38 P.M., P25 was dispatched to 309 Maple St. in reference to a domestic complaint. The victim reported that she got into an argument while driving with her ex-boyfriend. He became angry because she advised him to get out of the car and hit her in the mouth, then got out and fled on foot. A warrant will be requested for his arrest.

On 050921, a female requested a cab and was given a ride by the Ohio Valley Cab Company. The female refused to pay her cab fare. The female was contacted on 051121 and she confessed to not paying stating the driver didn't drive to her liking so she refused to pay. She will be summonsed on a charge of theft in the amount of $6.50.

On 051221 at 2:15 hrs, P57 along with P74 and P65 were dispatched to 108 Woodcrest Dr., Marietta OH in regards to a disturbance possibly involving a firearm. Upon arrival, units made contact with the victim who advised that Reginald Sims showed up at her residence and her son answered the door. Sims was asked to leave, but became confrontational and assaulted both the victim and her son. A resident fired two warning shots and Sims made multiple threats upon leaving. Sims fled in a red pickup and went to Belpre where he obtained a knife and began to travel back to Marietta. Officers located Sims upon him returning to Marietta and attempted to perform a traffic stop. Sims fled from officers and a pursuit was initiated where he led officers back to 108 Woodcrest where he was taken into custody after a brief struggle. The knife was found in the truck and Sims was charged with assault, aggravated menacing stemming from the original incident, fleeing, eluding, and resisting from the pursuit.

On 051221 P23 spoke with loss prevention at Lowes regarding the fraudulent return of merchandise to the amount of $627. The suspect has done this at other Lowes stores in the area.

P69 responded to 731 Greene St in reference to juveniles in possession of a firearm at that residence. A 9mm handgun was located and seized, the investigation is ongoing.

ON 051321 P23 met with employees of Bridgeport equipment regarding the theft of a saw and cable at a construction site on their property. Daniel A Rohr has been arrested and charged with theft in connection to this case.

P35 investigated a child endangered complaint. It was reported that two small children are frequently seen by neighbors playing in the road on Lord Street unattended.

On 051321, around 2300 hrs., units from the Marietta PD along with the Marietta Fire Dept. responded to 1115 Colonial Drive in reference to a structure fire. Upon arrival, MFD quickly extinguished the fire. No one was injured and the fire is believed to have been caused by somebody smoking with an oxygen tank in use.

On May 14, 2021, P50 responded to the Giant Eagle parking lot in reference to two small children being left alone in a vehicle. P50 found children, ages five and one, were unattended in a Chevrolet HHR. The vehicle was running, keys in it with all four windows down. The mother of the children was located inside Giant Eagle shopping. Charges are pending.

On May 15, 2021 P50 responded to the Washington County Juvenile Center in reference to a runaway juvenile. Upon arrival, P50 found that while a case manager was out running with five juveniles, a seventeen-year-old male took off running from the formation and would not come back. The juvenile turned himself back in a few hours later.

On 05/15/2021, P74 responded to 309 Maple Street, Unit 2, in reference to a possible B&E in progress. The on-scene investigation revealed the male subject had recently resided there, came to pick up clothing, and became upset his clothing was not there. The suspect punched a television, breaking it, prior to fleeing the scene. A warrant will be requested for criminal damaging.

On 051621 P65 was dispatched to Walmart in reference to a theft complaint. Upon arrival and after the investigation, the male was located on the bike path and taken back to Walmart. Stolen merchandise along with drug paraphernalia and drug residue was located on the male. The male will be summoned for theft.
