On 05/13/21 P 49 was contacted by the superintendent of Marietta City Schools in reference to his email and several other employees emails being hacked since 2018.

On 05/19/21 at 1113 S13 was dispatched to Frontier Shopping Center for a welfare check. After investigating, S13 arrested Corey Enos Singer for domestic violence by threat against a family member.

On 05/19/21 P73 responded to 731 Glendale in reference to a missing 71-year-old man reported by his son. The man was located on 05/21/21 on Colegate Dr.

On 05/19/21 at 1441 hrs, P64 was dispatched to the Marietta P.D. in reference to an identity fraud report. Upon arrival, officers made contact with the complainant who advised a collection agency had been in contact with him in reference to a bill from a communication company out of Las Vegas, NV at this time this case remains under further investigation.

On 05/20/21 at 0932hrs, S13, P50, and P64 were dispatched to 284 Ridgewood Ct Apt A in reference to a family dispute involving threats. Through investigation, it was found that the victim’s daughter, Amy Books, made a threat of force which caused the complainant to believe that physical harm would be done to her. As a result, Amy Books was arrested and transported to the Washington County Jail and charged with domestic violence by threat.

On May 21, 2021 P66 was dispatched to 804 Pike St, Walmart in reference to a shoplifter. Upon arrival and after investigation it was found that Derek Eugene Boice had placed items in his pocket and passed the last point of sale. As a result, Derek Eugene Boice was arrested for theft and probation violation and taken to the Washington County Jail.

On May 22, 2021, AT 1403hrs, P66 was dispatched to a two-unit non-injury crash. Upon arrival, it was learned Kelly Hendershot was operating a vehicle under the influence and was arrested for such. Once at the Washington County Jail, Kelly Hendershot was offered a urine test but filled the test cup with toilet water. As a result, Kelly Hendershot was charged with felony OVI (3 previous convictions in the last 10 years) and tampering with evidence.

On 05/22/21 P60 was dispatched to Walmart in reference to a theft complaint. Upon arrival and after investigation, it was determined that a man failed to scan several pairs of shorts while using the self-checkout and passed the last point of sale. A summons will be requested for him to appear for the charge of theft.

On 05/23/2021 P75 was dispatched to 902 Warren St in reference to vandalism of car tires. This incident is still under investigation.

P35 investigated a shoplifting complaint. John Peter Nichols was caught pretending to use the self-checkout and stealing $84 in merchandise. He was arrested for theft and criminal trespass (having previously barred from the store for shoplifting). Nichols was later released on a PR bond.

On 05/23/21 at around 2110 hrs., MPD units responded to a residence on Pennsylvania Ave. In reference to a male attempting suicide. Officers took him into custody for transport to MMH for evaluation.
