On 06/15/21 P60 investigated the death of a 52-year-old woman at 446 Pike Street after investigation. No foul play is suspected and the death was from natural causes.

On 06/15/21 at around 1200 hours, P63 transported Andrew Michael Smith from the Noble County Jail to the Washington County Jail on a warrant for failing to appear in court.

On 06/15/21 at 1347hrs P35, P75, and S15 were dispatched to 111 N Hart Street in reference to an assault. After on scene investigation was conducted, Amy Lynn Smithberger was placed under arrest for assault and transported to the Washington County Jail.

On 06/15/21 at around 1505 hours, a mother reported that her 17-year-old son had not been seen since the previous night. The juvenile’s probation officer had been notified. The juvenile was entered as missing. Later in the night the juvenile returned and was taken to the Washington County Juvenile Center per a probation violation.

On 06/16/21 P65 was dispatched to Walmart in reference to an attempted shoplifting. The male suspect was stopped and fled leaving his bag with $43 in stolen merchandise and his syringe.

On 06/16/2021 P52 was dispatched to 420 Front Street in reference to a theft complaint. P52 learned a large amount of tools was stolen from the bed of a truck.

On 061721 at 17:15 HRS, P57, S18, and P65 were dispatched to 800 N Fifth Street., Apartment 2 in regards to a man being disorderly throwing belongings from his apartment. Upon arrival, units made contact with the man who seemed to be extremely agitated and stated that people had come into his apartment and stole towels, bacon, his EBT card, and his Ohio ID card.

On June 18, 2021 S18 was dispatched to Super 8 Motel in reference an individual not paying cab fare. It was determined that a man had gotten a ride from Parkersburg, WV to the hotel and upon arrival had no money to pay the cab fare.

On 06/18/21 at 0500hrs WCSO was dispatched to a car fire. They contacted the owner of the vehicle and he reported it stolen from the 700 block of Front Street P75 spoke with the owner about the theft of the vehicle. This incident is still under investigation.

On 06/18/21, at around 1309 hours, P63 was dispatched to a Sixth Street residence in reference to the death of an 80-year-old female. The death was found to be of natural causes.

On 06/18/21 at 1814hrs P75 was dispatched to 105 Washington Street in reference to stolen firearms. Two pistols were left in a broken-down car.

On 06/18/21 at around 1944 hrs, P67 responded to Gold Star Park in reference to damage to a bench. This case remains under investigation.

On 06/19/21 at around 0013 hrs, P67 and S17 responded to 1109 Colonial Drive in reference to a disturbance. After investigation, it was determined that a window was kicked and broken by a female that was involved in a disagreement with another female. Charges will be requested for criminal damaging through Marietta Municipal Court.

On 06/19/21 P23 investigated the report of the theft of a firearm during a burglary at 218 Sheldon Ave.

On 06/19/21 P23 responded to the report of a shoplifter at Walmart. The suspect was under ringing $67 in merchandise. The suspect will be summonsed.

Officers received a report of a possible sex crime against a child. The investigation is ongoing.

On 06/19/21 at 1636hrs P75 and S15 were dispatched to the 600 B of Montgomery Street for an animal at large. While on the scene a dog charged a resident and almost bit her but was tased by S15. Gloria Wittekind was cited for the animal at large.

On 06/19/21 at around 1639 hours, P63 responded to the 500 block of Second Street in reference to an unruly juvenile female. Through an investigation, it was revealed that the juvenile has a long history of unruly behavior. A charge will be completed and forwarded to the Washington County Juvenile Court.

On 06/19/21 at 2108 hrs, P67 responded to Walmart in reference to a shoplifting complaint. A female was observed failing to ring up several items before placing them into her cart. She will be summonsed through Marietta Municipal Court for charges of theft.
