Marietta fun fact of the day:

Marietta was quickly impacted by the freedom women were granted by the 19th Amendment. Political ads raced to target women. And some women went right into local politics. Katharine Thomas became the first female clerk of courts, elected in 1922. In 1923 Sarah Linicome ran unsuccessfully for the city council.

-The city will be helping folks do some spring cleaning in the summer. This Friday they will be accepting and disposing of unwanted garbage, furniture, bicycles, toys, scrap lumber, carpet, doors, and windows. Details about their Cleanup Days Event can be found here.

-This Saturday Marietta Main Street will be hosting a Wine and Chocolate Walk event from 2 p.m. to 6 p.m. Details here.
