Marietta fun fact of the day:

Mariettans who stayed home during the Civil War lived in constant fear of a Confederate attack. There was a real worry that Stonewall Jackson would lead a charge against Parkersburg. Tho Ohio governor stationed the First Regiment of Light Artillery at Marietta in 1861. They stayed here until 1865. Colonel William Rufus Putnam was made commandant of the post in the city his grandfather founded.
