This evening, law enforcement agencies from around the Mid-Ohio Valley will congregate in the old Marietta Kmart parking lot. At 8:30 p.m. they will take off in a "blue light" procession through Washington County, and Wood County. It looks like we can expect to see the Marietta Police Department, Washington County Sheriff's Office, Vienna Police Department, Wood County Sheriff's Department, Belpre Police Department, the Ohio State Highway Patrol, WV State Police, Williamstown Police Department, Parkersburg Police Department, Beverly Police Department, and the Marietta College Police Department.

The Washington County Sheriff's Office said they are doing this to honor those Peace Officers who've made the ultimate sacrifice for the communities they served, and those officers who currently serve or have served locally and across the United States. They posted memorials on their website for Deputy Rodney Kevin Kinzy who passed away on 4/17/1990. Lieutenant Ray R. Joe Clark who passed away on 2/7/1981. And Deputy Charley Ross who died on 10/6/1947.
