Obituary: Brenda Joyce Palmer

Brenda Joyce Palmer, 79, of Fleming passed away at her home on Tuesday, June 8, 2021.

She was born on August 25, 1941, in Marietta a daughter of the late Mark and Hazel Ritchie Plaugher. Brenda was a graduate of Marietta High School and had worked for Shoney’s and Marietta Laundry and volunteered as an EMT for Warren Volunteer Fire Department and the fire department’s auxiliary. She loved to sew and make clothing and was known for the cookies and cakes she baked. She really enjoyed singing Karaoke with her sisters.

On June 14, 1959, she married James Palmer who preceded her in death on August 10, 2012. Brenda is survived by their children: James Palmer, Jr. (Kelly), Melissa Patterson and Deanna Hinton, 10 grandchildren, 9 great-grandchildren, 2 brothers Rodney and Tony Plaugher.

She was preceded in death by daughter Cindy Kennedy, brothers, and sisters: Gilbert “Gib” Plaugher, Gale Plaugher, Frank Plaugher, Robert Plaugher, Wilma Christopher, Betty Hart, and Ramona Plaugher.

Funeral services will be held on Friday (June 11) at 1:00 pm at McClure-Schafer-Lankford Funeral Home with burial following in Tunnel Cemetery. Family will greet friends at the funeral home on Thursday from 2-4 and 6-8. Messages of sympathy may be sent to the family at: Condolences@Lankfordfh.com.
