Patch Welcomes Twisted Glass To Marietta

Twisted Glass comes to Marietta. They're going to be a very visible presence on Pike Street, just down the road from Strawberry Fields.

MARIETTA, OH — There's a new shop in town, it's called Twisted Glass. It stands atop the hill on Pike Street where Breyer's Ice Cream once stood, where LoanMax once stood. But no longer can you get great interest rates or tasty frozen treats there. Now, with a little help from them, you can get your smoke on.

Twisted Glass opened officially yesterday, you can still see part of the LoanMax sign on the building. Owner Daniel Pannell says they wanted to hit the ground running. "I was too anxious to get up and ready and we didn't give the sign people enough time." He says they plan on changing that to a Twisted Glass sign in the next couple of weeks.

Pannell already has two locations open in Parkersburg. "We just thought, better to cover all of the MOV. So now wherever you go in the MOV, we have a location." He says what sets his shops apart from the others is the folks who work there. "Everyone here's friendly, and we work together as a team."

Another thing that sets their shop apart is, the wheel. Behind the counter is a colorful wheel that customers get to spin if they spend more than $50. "You get something free or half off. People seem to really like that."

It should be noted that the medical marijuana shop Strawberry Fields is just down the road. Pannell says a lot of the products sold at Twisted Glass pair well with medicinal marijuana. But they don't just sell items to aid medical marijuana cardholders. "We also carry a bunch of vape stuff as well. We also have CBD, Delta-8, kratom, tobacco products, non-tobacco products, detox drinks, hookah stuff. A little bit of everything."

Store employee Andrew Dimitroff says the idea is to accommodate everyone. "It doesn't matter what age you are, as long as you're above 18. I have older ladies coming in who are in their 70s." He says the older crowd is grateful they can educate them. "They're old school. They don't know anything about the newer stuff." He says they want to teach folks how to do things the right way, so as to not waste product.

Pannell says their opening day went well. "We're still working on getting our name out there. We were rather busy for our first day." Pannell invites people to come on in. "We have really good vibes. Everyone who works in the store is really knowledgeable about all our products."
