On 13 May 2021 Deputy Schwendeman began an investigation into a possible burglary. This case remains under investigation.

On 13 May 2021, Deputy Johnson began an investigation where New River Electrical Corp. reported a theft from Pike Street, Marietta, OH, of a chainsaw. This case remains under investigation.
On 14 May 2021 Deputy Huffer was serving civil papers and went to 434 Douglas Avenue, Marietta, OH, in an attempt to serve a subpoena. Mark A. Hart answered the door and immediately told Deputy Huffer the active protection order between him and the resident of the home, had been recently dismissed. A check through dispatch revealed the protection order between the two was still active. The protected party was located inside of the home and served his subpoena. Mark Anthony Hart, age 30, 434 Douglas Avenue, Marietta, OH, was placed under arrest and charged with violating the terms of a protection order.

On 15 May 2021 Deputy Peters assisted the Beverly Police Department in reference to harassment. It was determined that Roger D. Brister was communicating with a female subject via Facebook. Brister had made lewd comments in the messaging to the female. Contact was made with Brister, who was unable to remember making those comments, however, if he did so it was wrong. Roger Dale Brister, age 48, 105 Sixth Street, Beverly, OH, was placed under arrest for menacing by stalking and transported to the Washington County Jail.

On 15 May 2021 Sgt. Parks was dispatched to 27400 State Route 7, Lot 72, Marietta, OH, to a report of a juvenile leaving the home. Contact was made with the juvenile in which acts of violence were reported by her, as well as arguing. When Brittieny Barcus was asked if she had been arguing with the juvenile she stated a little bit, but it was not serious. Brittieny Jean Barcus, age 33, was placed under arrest for domestic violence and transported to the Washington County Jail.

On 17 May 2021 Deputy Kehl began an investigation into a burglary in New Matamoras where several items were removed. This case is currently under investigation.

Rolando James Rodriguez, age 46, Marietta, OH, probation violation, a misdemeanor.

Brittieny Jean Barcus, age 33, Marietta, OH, domestic violence, a misdemeanor.


James Daniel Hunt, age 39, having weapons while under disability, possession of fentanyl, illegal conveyance of drugs, and possession of drugs, all felonies.

Joshua Eric Allan, age 28, illegal use or possession of drug paraphernalia, a misdemeanor.

Sherry Regenia Waybright, age 35, Parkersburg, WV, possession of drugs, 2 counts, both felonies.

Anna Lee Walker, age 44, Parkersburg, WV, possessing drug abuse instruments, a misdemeanor.

Tyler Nathaniel Bailey, age 39, Marietta, OH, parole violation, a felony.
There are currently 23 female inmates and 94 male inmates being housed in the Washington County Jail.
