This morning the city kicked off National Police Week with a ceremony. The mayor read a proclamation and said the city is preparing to lower the flags to half staff at the end of the week. They will be lowering the flags to honor all the officers slain in the line of duty. He says we've lost several in our police department over the years. "We ask everyone to keep them in your thoughts, and their families."

The city is getting ready to kick off All-Out Rollout next week. This week the city is getting its ducks in a row and finishing up other projects so they can focus on All-Out Rollout. For those who don't know, this is a newer program where city departments focus their efforts on individual streets. So the idea is they hit a street, hit it hard, and leave it better than ever. Mayor Schlicher says starting next week the public will be seeing a lot of city trucks, signs, flaggers, and lights. "We're going to start downtown, there's going to be a lot of action next week." He asked for folks to be mindful of work crews around town.
This week the city is working to organize the All-Out Cleanout program. This is a program where the city makes dumpsters available for folks looking to do a bit of spring cleaning. The dumpsters used to be placed around town, but Mayor Schlicher says they're doing things a bit differently this year. In the past, people had abused their program and overstuffed the dumpsters. This year, the dumpsters will be in one area and will be monitored. This program kicks off next month, the city is getting the details ironed out right now.
