25-Year-Old Killed In Head-On Car Crash In Mentor

Police said the man's Chevrolet collided with a pick-up truck on Tuesday afternoon.

MENTOR, OH — A 25-year-old Mentor man was killed in a car accident on Tuesday afternoon, police announced. The accident happened on Center Street bridge, just north of Station Street.

A Ford F150 was going north on Center Street when it was hit by a Chevrolet that had drifted left of center. The Chevrolet hit the pick-up truck head on.

The two people inside the Ford were OK, police said. They suffered no apparent injuries in the crash.

However, the driver of the Chevrolet was badly hurt in the accident. He was rushed to Lake Health West Medical Center in Willoughby, where he was pronounced dead, police said.

The Mentor Police Department Accident Investigation Unit is exploring the accident, and the crash remains under investigation. Police said additional details on the incident will be released at a later date.
