Alzheimer's Association Celebrates Cleveland Doctors

The Night of a Thousand Lights in Mayfield Heights will celebrate the efforts of Cleveland doctors in Alzheimer's research.

Alzheimer's affects millions, and on May 5, the Alzheimer's Association will celebrate the people on the front lines fighting the disease.

The Night of a Thousand Lights will be held in Mayfield Heights at the Executive Caterers on Landerhaven Drive.

The event will feature food, drinks and a silent auction of items. Attendees will contribute to Alzheimer's awareness and research. Proceeds will educate Northeast Ohio families affected by Alzheimer's disease and to the Alzheimer's Assocation for further research.

The event will recognize the efforts of Dr. James Leverenz, director of the Cleveland Lou Ruvo Center for Brain Health at the Cleveland Clinic, and Dr. Alan Lerner, director of the Brain Health and Memory Center at the University Hospitals Case Medical Center. Both facilities will be applauded for their efforts in Alzheimer's research.

The Alzheimer's Association is ranked four out of four stars on Charity Navigator, based on financial, accountability and transparency. They spend 73.3% of their finances on program expenses, which includes public education and patient and family services.
