Bank Robbery Suspect Arrested in Akron
Connected to Sept. 19 robbery at Huntington Bank on SOM Center Road.
Akron police arrested a man suspected of the Sept. 19 robbery at , 1314 SOM Center Rd., Police Department Detective Joe Leskovec said.
The 29-year-old Akron man and his girlfriend are expected to be brought up on charges relating to four or five bank robberies, Leskovec said. The FBI is handling the case.
The local robbery occurred at 2:33 p.m. on a Monday afternoon. The suspect handed the teller a note demanding money and fled with the cash.

Police from Mayfield Heights and nearby communities searched the area for the suspect but were unable to find him.
